REVUE THOMMEN is a Swiss watch and aviation instrumentation manufacturer, originally established in 1853 as Waldenburg clock and watch-making company. In the early 1960s, the manufacturing of aviation instruments was added to the portfolio of Swiss Made Watches. The company has endured a journey of over 160 years and has along the way touched and strongly influenced the historical town of Waldenburg, and the same-named valley of its origin, located some 30km from Basel in the northern part of Switzerland. Following a re-organization in 2012, the ownership is today configured as following; · GT THOMMEN WATCH AG owns the brand rights and trademark for the Swiss Made Watches that are branded as REVUE THOMMEN · REVUE THOMMEN AG owns the brand rights and trademark for the aviation instruments that are branded under THOMMEN Aircraft Equipment REVUE THOMMEN AG itself became over time an independent and leading manufacturer of precision instruments and avionics. Out of the original factory in Waldenburg in Switzerland, the company still today continues to supply aircraft manufacturers and air forces worldwide. The REVUE THOMMEN watch trademark is now operated by SWISS INITIATIVE LIMITED since early 2015 under the license of GT THOMMEN WATCH AG for the sole production and worldwide distribution, and will going forward be responsible for the further development of the brand. The new ownership which includes a direct descendant of the founder family and management that has a 3 generations legacy of its own in watchmaking is too from the Waldenburg valley, which traditionally has a strong affiliation with the watch industry, is enthused and dedicated to taking upon the role of carrying the heritage of the brand forward and to bringing it back to its previous glory and beyond, by re-positioning itself in the “Affordable Luxury Segment.” Passionately created watches, with a great respect for its heritage in watchmaking and a touch of modern simplicity will continue to woo watch aficionados and consumers. A strong affiliation with the roots in manufacturing of mechanical watches and aircraft instruments will resume center stage, alongside a diverse collection of mechanical Classical, Lifestyle, Aviation and Sport watches.
